Urgent: if these pains are new, unusual from what he had post - operatively, similar to the ones he had (if any) with his heart attack, or if associated with shortness of breath, nausea, felling clammy or radiation to arm, back, neck - or even if it is concerning to him . You guys must contact the surgeon's team immediately, and/or go to an ER to get appropriate evaluation.
