A member asked:

My daughter was diagnoised with calcium depoists on her thyroid. what are the chances it is cancer? she had hodgins 20 years ago

A doctor has provided 1 answer

It depends somewhat: on how the calcium is located and deposited on the ultrasound. If she has nodule(s) with calcification a thyroid biopsy and certain lab are indicated. Have her discuss it with her physician. This is particularly important if she had prior irradiation of the neck for her Hodgkins.
