It Depends: There are differing degrees of abnormality when it comes to pap smears. If the result is atypical cells, that can be caused by many reasons such as, recent intercourse, infection, pregnancy, or technical error. If you are positive for high risk HPV, this is not due to miscarriage. HPV is a sexually transmitted virus, that can cause abnormal pap results.

Possible: A Pap smear is from a sample of cells from the cervix and they can be affected by pregnancy and can be contaminated by cell from the uterus. However abnormal is ABNORMAL therefore should discuss with doctor because other tests may be needed and at minimum repeat PAP
