What medication can we use to help my child with his asthma?

Asthma: There are currently no OTC medicines available for asthma. Please take your son to his Pediatrician so he can be closely monitored and treated properly.

Childhood asthma: First consider non-medicine interventions (smoking, pets, carpets etc).Next for moderate to severe asthma there are a couple of mainstays:An inhaled steroid used twice daily-every day;an antihistamine like zyrtec or claritin. If your child is still requiring frequent use of their rescue medicine then your doc may suggest adding singulair (montelukast). Talk to your doc about seeing a peds pulmonologist.
