Limit caffeine: caffeine when used regularly in high doses can cause low birth weight. Not a good idea for high dose energy drinks or large caffeine dose of any type. One exposure has some effect but not as much as continued exposure. Limit these types of beverages

Baby should be fine: Caffeine can be an issue if it is consumed on an ongoing basis while pregnant. Mayo Clinic and March of Dimes recommend limiting caffeine intake to less than 200 mg per day .Eight oz of drip or filtered coffee can have between 115 to about 200 mg depending on the preparation. A single exposure to caffeine should not be a cause of concern for your baby.
