May not: With most common staging system, Stage 3 cancer means the cancer still in the liver and has not spreaded outside the liver. Someone with stage 2 cancer ( one cancer less than 5 cm in size OR 3 or less cancer with largest tumor size less than 3 cm) is considered for transplant. Stage 3 may have gone too far. However, some stage 3 tumor can be treated to reduced the size to make stage 2.

Liver cancer: Can be a very serious illness. If it is "in remission", then there is usually no evidence of cancer currently, although there is a high rate of recurrence regardless. If the patient is being considered for a liver transplant, there is probably no evidence of cancer growth seen at this time. The long-term prognosis depends on many factors, and it is impossible to comment on that here. Good luck.
