Maybe both: It is possible that you are sensitive to both. If you just got itchy without a rash then it probably is not poison ivy. And gnats (along with other biting bugs) will usually present with some sort of bite marks. There are also lots of other things out there in nature that can make you itchy. Consider having it looked at it if the problem persists.

No rash no allergy: I suspect that the heat and the humidity gave you prickly heat. Itching without a rash is not due to allergy or to insect bites.
