A member asked:

Where's the absence seizures coming from?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Absence seizures: Absence seizures normally arise from the surface of the brain (the cortex) on both sides. They are associated with differences in ion channel function which keep the brain cells electrically charged. Absence seizures may run in families. Most children with absence seizures outgrow them as they become older.
