Splinter hemorrhage?: It would help to show a photo of this. Are they the color of blood? Was there trauma in your finger tips recently? And the end of your nail, are you talking about the fingertips?

I have had a section of my fingernail that can present a dark line, which looks like a splinter or blood blister. It runs vertically from the base of the nail to the tip. The nail itself splits at the tip along the same line.
Occasionally get a one or two small splinter hemorrhages on a random finger nail. Anything to worry about or can they just be benign? Had no trauma.
