If : If the splinter is still present and causing you pain, then you need to have it removed. Also you run the risk of getting an infection. Visit your primary care provider or an urgent care center for an evaluation and minor procedure to remove the splinter. Best of luck.

If : If it doesn't hurt and its in very far leave it be, it will grow out soaking in warm water or water and hydrogen peroxide and applying some antiobitoc ointment will help keep it clean. If it gets infected, i.e. Swollen with a collection of pus, then you can develop a sublingual ( under the nail) access and it will need to be drained in that case the finger will need to be anesthetized and the nail elevated do not try that your self, if the hyponychial skin, the skin at the eye of the nail end is sealed shut and the splinter is not reachable, typically you can just let it grow out.
