You bet: This may be termed a "self-fulfilling prophecy". If you are focused on your memory issues, your emotional tension can make it far worse. But the real question involves the reason for the memory issues in the first place. Is it congenital, or acquired, is it due to a learning disorder, could it be associated with thyroid or vitamin deficiencies, is it a part of a sleep disorder?

Yes: anxiety can get in the way of memory formation as well as recollection. you might consider a workup - memory can be tested and reveal what the underlying issue is. or if you are certain its anxiety you can see your PCP or a psychiatrist. http://www.calmclinic.com/anxiety/symptoms/memory-problems http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Effects_of_stress_on_memory
