Uncertain without looking.: Normally a yeast infection doesn't smell that bad. Bacterial infections usually smell bad. Tricky Mona's infection is typically described as fishy. Unfortunately there is no rule that says you cannot have more than one type of an infection at a time.

It depends.: Sometimes women have both problems together. If a culture was done that showed yeast forms than the treatment will help. If not, I would ask for metrogel vaginal cream to use for 5 nights or Flagyl instead. I agree that it isn't good to take an oral antifungal without proof of fungal infection. Itching and a thick white discharge would be more consistent with Candida.
