Can't predict: The vaginal opening is always tighter with the first baby, but there are other variables that determine whether you need an episiotomy for you next vaginal delivery, mainly, the side of the baby's head, the position of the baby and how fast the baby is born. Episiotmies prevent tearing of vital structures that could leave you incontinent. Congratulations on the baby and I hope you heal quickly.

Episiotomy: Whether or not you have an episiotomy in subsequent deliveries is dependent on many thing: the size of the current baby, the control or lack thereof that you have at the delivery, the speed at which the baby needs to be delivered, should there be a problem. Speak to your doctor about your concerns and together form a plan on how to proceed.
