Many things: Hi Greg, It could be many things. A physical exam by a doctor is the most useful first step, possibly followed by xrays or MRI. If you want to provide more details regarding location, how often the symptoms occur, when they occur, it is possible to speculate more, but your doctor will ask you all of this and be able to give more useful information. That's where I would start.
