A member asked:

My cardiologist said that i have f5 deficiency, i ask for copy of lab results and it says that i have elevated f8. 185. what is the difference?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Clotting Factors: Clotting factors factors are like puzzle pieces and all are required, in addition to functional platelets, to control bleeding. Factor V, or F5 deficiency, can cause problems with abnormal bleeding since that factor is missing. An elevated factor 8 can cause the opposite problem - increased risk of blood clots. It is best to have a discussion about these findings with your hematologist.
