Why is it important for fluid to leak into tissue spaces during the inflammatory response?

Inflammation: The body's natural healing process requires several steps including substances within the blood that help with primary healing. After any injury, the capillaries become "leaky" and hence the swelling. Sometimes it causes additional issues like compression of the surrounding structures and has to be curtailed by anti-inflammatory meds which may also help with the pain due to the swelling.
