A member asked:

Does doxycycline cause jaundice? i dont take it now but my eyes are a bit yellow with indirect billirubin a bit elevated should i avoid this

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Yes avoid it: Doxycycline and other tetracycline type antibiotics can cause jaundice and elevated bilirubin and liver enzymes. Check with your doctor to make sure the jaundice resolves and that there is no other cause. If you have had this reaction to doxycycline then it would be good to avoid all tetracycline type drugs in the future.
