Kidney stones can pass or can break up if small and fragile. A 4 mm stone will either pass down your ureter or will fragment. Your diet is hugely important. Avoid animal protein, drink 4-5 liters of fluid per day, plus at least one liter lemonade or 4 tablespoons lemon extract. Taking hydrochlorothiazide will prevent further growth. Taking sodium citrate will help 3 ounces per day.
