Possibly: Yes, it's possible that they are related. For example a "pinched nerve" in the lower back can cause pain in the leg. This is called radiculopathy. There are other possibilities, including that the two areas of pain are unrelated. Only an exam and perhaps MRI can tell YOU what YOUR problem is.
