Many reasons: Spotting can be normal, caused by birth control such as pills, IUDs, Depo-Provera provera (medroxyprogesterone) or nexplanon or can be a sign of a hormonal problem or pregnancy. If you are not pregnant or using any contraception I would consult your health care provider.
