Bleeding may be from: Plan B. Potential Side effects w emergency contraception include menstrual flow changes (spotting, bleeding, early or late period). Take pregnancy test & notify Dr if your period is 7 or > days late.

Sex: Taking planB can cause light bleeding. You can have your girlfriend take a pregnancy test just to be sure

Take test: Light bleeding can certainly happen for several reasons including simple dryness, etc. If you are really concerned about avoiding pregnancy, I would recommend using protection in future. Plan b is not foolproof...if concerned enough to take it, take pregnancy test soon.

Not uncommon: The plan B works through hormonal pathways which is not uncommon to cause some abnormal bleeding. That being said, it would not be a bad idea to check a pregnancy test to be safe as well, as there are No definitive guarantees with unprotected sex and plan B. Best wishes.

Pregnancy test.: The bleeding is usually heavy after taking plan B. I would recommend a pregnancy test and follow up with a gynecologist.
