How effective is jettrea injection for macular pucker. should it be tried before the decision to have vitrectomy?

For Macular traction: Jetrea, or ocriplasmin, is approved for the treatment of vitreomacular adhesions, which are adhesions between the vitreous gel of the eye and the retina, specifically the macula. The drug is a proteolytic enzyme, which dissolves the adhesion when injected directly into the eye by a retinal specialist. There are other causes for macular pucker than adhesions, so vitrectomy might be preferred.
