Is elbow pain a growing pain? ive read somewhere its still possible to have growing pains at 17 and i have aching left elbow sometimes

Not usually: Growing pains most commonly in legs and usually in legs. Elbow pain usually from trauma, overuse, and sometimes arthritis. If frequent pain should see physician for workup including physical exam and sometimes imaging.

Depends: Many cause of elbow pain..injury, infection, inflammation, tendonitis to name a few. Hard to say what is causing yours without evaluating you. Growth pains or pains from growing are thought to occur because the bones of arms/legs grow faster than the muscles/tendons leading to some pain. If you have been growing a lot in the last 6mo to year it might be that. Sorry I can't give better answer.

Probably not: Growing pains are more often in younger children and tend to be in muscles not in joints such as the elbow. You probably have a tendonitis or bursitis. Try some ice and ibuprofen and if symptoms persist see a doctor,
