Get evaluated: If you have a trimalleolar fracture you should be evaluated by a board certified foot/ankle surgeon. You will need to be evaluated for possible surgery in order to realign the ankle joint and prevent further problems. Don't get caught in the myth that 'if i can walk it must not be that bad".

Have surgery : Trimalleolar fractures are very unstable and will require surgery to repair the fractures. There is high risk for future ankle joint damage and arthritis if untreated.
