Hard to say: It could be a swollen lymph node from an infection/irritation. Do you have any other symptoms of a cold or a scratch, bite, itchy scalp? If you have no other symptoms, make an appt to see your doc to get it checked when he can see you. If you have signs you're sick, get seen sooner. Swollen lymph nodes are common: a reaction to infection and/or inflammation. But this could be a boil see MD.

Cyst or Lymph Node: If it is painful, could be a lymph node that is taking care of an infection especially if you have an infection such as a sinus infection, ear pain, tooth abscess etc. It could also be an infected cyst. You need to seek medical care if you are not better.
