Probably not: Strep throat is the most common cause of bacterial sore throat, which is very sensitive to 'cillin type antibiotics. It is possible that the antibiotics are causing side effects of tummy pain and vomiting. It is also possible that the child's throat infection is viral, even several viral illnesses closely spaced in time.

Not Likely: Bacterial infections of the throat, usually strep throat, should be responsive to antibiotics. Resistance is less of a worry for strep than other bacteria. I would be concerned about other infections such as urinary tract infections, mononucleosis, and gastroenteritis. If the pain is in the lower right side of the belly, I would worry about appendicitis or abscess. Call you doctor for follow-up.
