Melanoma: No need to worry. Worry never helps with anything. Have it looked at by your primary care doctor or dermatologist. With a family history of melanoma, you should get regular skin surveys by a dermatologist.

Probably: I can't see the lesion you are describing, but until you have it biopsied or seen by a dermatologist, I wouldn't feel comfortable until I did.

Concerned, yes.: You should be concerned if you notice a change in a mole. Melanoma risk might not be directly inherited, but skin complexion is. Fair skin and sun exposure are strong risk factors. Melanoma is one of the most common cancers in younger adults. Since early melanoma is fairly easily diagnosed and eminently curable, don't waste time getting a professional opinion and biopsy diagnosis.
