Be judicious: In terms of diet, eating a healthy diet is important. There are no specific limitations though one should be careful about mercury if consuming lots of fish. Be sure to take a prenatal vitamin with appropriate folic acid and iodine supplementation especially in iodine deficient areas. Obtain and f/u on proper prenatal care. Screen for infection, HTN, diabetes. If you have diabetes, be careful

Ask your doc: Every pregnancy is different. Your doc should have given you a list of Do's and Don'ts. Both caffeine and sugar can affect some pregnancies more than others. Double-check with your doc. Sugar has empty calories, fruit is much better for you and your baby. Eat healthy, be happy and be proud of yourself for asking questions when you are not certain. A smart mom, for sure!
