The left side of my tongue is numb is just started yesterday and i have not had any procedures what can cause this?

Tongue: If numbness just started,and no other symptoms,there may be localized event,pressure on tongue,from biting or sleeping on side,sometimes middle ear infection,can present this way,but also have facial palsy,if your doctor,cannot come to conclusion,consider rare causes,MRI of brain,dental evaluation,and may be a neurologist,howevere,likely it will resolve on its own
