Armpit boils: Sometimes a doctor can help things along by making a small incision in these abscesses. This helps in the treatment by getting the pus out, AND it is helpful in order to figure out 'what' bacteria are causing the problem - I suspect 'Staph' since they commonly cause localized skin abscesses. Then, once you have a culture, the best choice of an antibiotic can be made. Hope this helps.
