Coccyx: The coccyx is a cartilage structure at the tip of the sacrum(tailbone) and when that is injured it becomes very uncomfortable and unfortunately the discomfort may last week's to months. If you continue to have very severe pain and tenderness, the tailbone probably should be xrayed,however. Discuss this with your physician as needed. Cold applications for 48 hours and hot applications after help.

Coccyx: Unfortunately bruising your tailbone is painful and there is not much to for it. It will resolve over time. It will mostly be supportive care like pain medicaiton, using a donut shape pillow to sit down, etc. Just make sure you have had an xray to make sure it wasn't fractured.
