Testing: The most appropriate way to alleviate your fears about HIV is to get tested. Most people don't worry about HIV bc of a sore throat. So if that is on your mind get tested. Sore throat can be caused by multiple things. Acute/subacute thyroiditis can definitely cause neck pain on palpation. But you need to be seen to have that evaluated.
