Depends: Birth control pills can make menstrual bleeding look different and you should be bleeding during the pill free week. If you have been on the pill for awhile and this is a change, I'd advise you to see a doctor to be sure. If you have recently started pills and the mucous is pink, brown, or black, it is probably the normal effect of the pill.
