Is is normal to have a period with little or no blood but only mucus-like clots? i am on birth control so might i need to change pills?

Mucus like period: Check urine blood HCG, sometimes the pill does not work. Note sometimes with pills there is a decrease/ack of periods.Also check thyroid, prolactin level and for polycystic ovary syndrome. Discuss w/ doctor the addtional tests and switching ( some people do not mind the lack of period-but note it may take up several months after stopping BC for period to resume due to pituitary supression)
