Anxiety: Most physical discomforts engender a degree of anxiety. Anxiety prone individuals can have disproportionately severe somatic symptoms when afflicted with organic conditions. Thoracic outlet syndrome by itself does not cause anxiety

By repetitive stress: This condition involves compression of 1 or more nerves that innervate the upper limb and/or blood vessels as they pass between the chest & upper extremity, ie. the brachial plexus or subclavian vein.It usually results from a positional cause, i.e., by abnormal compression from the clavicle (collarbone) and shoulder on arm movement. It is worse w/repetitive stress by non ergonomic computer posture
