Disruption of Sleep: Although neurologists usually use the term partial seizure or complex partial seizure instead of petit mal seizure these days, sleep can be disrupted because of interruption in the normal sleep patterns, which can lead to less REM or deep sleep than you need. They could also cause "staring spells" interruptions in your train of thought, etc.
