Mri shown 17mm pineal cyst,had clear ct 3 years ago.headaches,tingling,nausea,anxiety.is this likely to be cancer?could scan be read wrong?

Not Cancer: It is normal to be nervous and worried. Pineal cysts are benign. Please have regular follow ups with your neurologist or neurosurgeon. Periodic scans will be done to monitor the cyst. Best wishes!

Not likely cancer,: Pineal cysts are generally benign in that they don't spread beyond the pineal gland, & so they are not considered cancerous. The fact that a CT scan years ago didn't see it is not surprising - you probably weren't having symptoms then, & CT scans can't differentiate cysts from the gland very well. 17mm is rather large, & could cause headaches & visual/neuro symptoms. Talk to a neurosurgeon aboutit
