A member asked:

After a majority removal of full leg blood clot with rapid lysis treatment how long will it take for swelling to go away or see major improvement?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Depends on clot type: It depends on whether the blood clot was in an artery or vein; since you describe swelling, seems likely it was a vein. Unfortunately, many times the vein can be damaged to the point that the valves in the vein do not function normally, and do not keep blood from falling to the feet. Make sure to see a good vein specialist during recovery, and follow their instructions. Good luck!
