Cold Sores: It sounds like you have cold sores. They are caused by the Herpes Simplex virus. 80% of people are exposed to this virus, usually through parental/child interaction. Some poeple become immune to the virus others get the cold sores. Herpes Simplex Virus type 1 cause sores on the mouth and peri-oral area. Type 2 cause genital sores. The hallmark of cold sores is "multiple coalescing vesicles.
