A member asked:

When would your doctor look for pulmonary hypertension?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Shortness of breath: Symptoms of pulmonary hypertension include shortness of breath, chest pain, dizziness and leg swelling. The early symptoms come and go but as the disease becomes worse the symptoms become more constant. The history and physical exam are helpful but an echocardiogram, cxr and ekg are almost always needed to evaluate the symptoms in full.
