Go to Doctor: Your doctor can examine your knee and determine additional treatment

Early osteoarthritis: The answer may lie in thinking about what might cause the cartilage within the knee to have less cushioning effect. When you lie down, your muscles relax and your thigh and lower leg bone can rub on each other if your cartilage is wearing down. Or if your tendons are lax/stretchy they might allow the bones to come closer together. Consider evaluation with Orthopedist or Sports Medicine specialist

Many reasons: Patellar tendinitis, fat pad irritation, ligament injury or Osteoarthritis ( unlikely at your age) can cause night time pain. See your doctor for X-rays and further evaluation. Meanwhile Ibuprofen might help.
