Prior history: It all depends on your prior sexual history or exposure to a source of infection( sharing needles, blood transfusion, tattoos, for example).If you are really suspicious you have been exposed to HIV talk to your doctor to consider more sensitive testing if needed or wait 3 months to get retested.
