COPD...: Chronic bronchitis is one of the chronic obstructive pulmonary diseases or copd. It is not due to infection or allergy but it is usually due to smoking. Smoking cessation, bronchodilators and inhaled steroids are important components of treatment. Patients with chronic bronchitis can develop infections or allergies but this is not the cause of the disease.
