A member asked:

What misconceptions do girls have about the symptoms of bulimia and anorexia?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Unhealthy: I think many think it is a great way to loose weight without effort. Instead they risk rotten teeth and ulcer from vomiting, death from electrolyte imbalances, swollen chipmunk cheeks from swollen salivary glands, and later problems with osteoporosis, ostrazation by peers. These are serious disorders close to depression and ocd. 20% of anorexics die if untreated.
