Bruising: It could be tiny bruises, but you should be seen and evaluated for the redness. If the dark spots have been in place for a while see a dermatologist. If they suddenly appeared with the pain it may just be a bruise. Have it looked at by your doctor.

Dark Matter...: It actually doesn't sound like an ingrown toenail. It sounds almost like some foreign matter may be trapped beneath the nail. It is hard to guess without actually seeing the nail. You may have to see a podiatrist for resolution.
