Soap & H2O better: (I am not a pediatrician, but I am a father.) Neonatal acne does not normally leave scars. It usually goes away on its own. In the meantime, I would recommend using just soap (eg, very dilute baby shampoo) and water on a soft wash rag, and avoiding commercial wipes that may have allergenic oils and fragrance.

No: Baby acne does not leave scars. Spitting will not make it worse. I would recommend only water to cleanse the face, though. Avoid using wipes on the face, as they contain chemicals which may be irritating. Good luck!
