Be careful of hip jt: What people call the hip frequently is not. If you are talking at the side of your pelvis this is not the true hip. This may be the area of the greater trochanter. You should see your ortho doc and then may well get some physiotherapy that you can use as needed to ease the discomfort. The doc should tell you exactly what is wrong

YES: I empathize with you, there are muscles around, many in fact that help to ensure the stability and movement of the joint. I suggest you see your physician who can recommend a physical therapist to help with the necessary rehabilitation following your injury.
