Many reasons: Gynecologists do hysteroscopies for many reasons. It can be used diagnostically to determine the cause of abnormal bleeding or infertility. It can also be used therapeutically to remove an IUD, stop abnormal bleeding, to remove abnormal cells inside the uterus and to open blocked fallopian tubes.
