A member asked:

Why are cycts hard? if they're made of fluid wouldn't that make them soft?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Cysts: Just like a balloon that may have lot of pressure built up inside and feel firm, so do cysts. The cyst firmness has to do with how much fluid it contains and the thickness of the cyst wall. Sometimes, when the pressure exceeds the cyst wall strength, they rupture and become soft or collapse.
