Mid cycle: You may be getting pain at the time of ovulation which is not uncommon.

NO: menstrual cramps are the cramps associated with menses. However, you can get some cramping with ovulation at this time. This is called Mittelschmerz.

Menstural cramps: Hi, you should not get cramp 2-3 weeks prior to your period, that is not normal, I would suggest that you see your provider if your pain still continues to bother you, it could be unrelated to your cycle, if you have any bleeding then consider a pregnancy test and see your MD ASAP. Good luck.
